Yeovil District Hospital are fundraising for a dedicated Breast Cancer Unit and need your help. Their breast care services are currently spread around the hospital, which means that patients need to move around the hospital and undress in multiple locations. YDH have launched an appeal to raise the £2million needed to change this and develop a dedicated unit in their Women’s Hospital, which will allow patients to have a biopsy, a mammogram, an ultrasound and a consultation all in one place. There will also be space for difficult conversations, a dedicated waiting area away from the rest of the hospital and a meeting room for support groups and wellbeing activities.
Yeo Vale Rotary Club is leading a campaign involving other Rotary clubs in our area (District 1200) to raise money for equipment for the Yeovil District Hospital Breast Cancer Unit.
Our target is to raise £100,000 towards their campaign - monies raised by the local clubs will be enhanced by a significant amount of match-funding from Rotary International. (£25,099.10 raised to date) click here to see a list of the equipment required
Patients and Breast Care Staff from Yeovil District Hospital have recorded a video which explains why the appeal is so important.
