WHATS NEW AT THE CLUB

Here you can add a small introduction to the following paragraph text

I

In Mid March 2020 the weekly meetings at the Crown and Victoria were suspended due to fears for the safety of members due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In April virtual meetings were started using Zoom. Since initiation virtual meetings have been held covering :- The annual Club assembly, Social/Fellowship gatherings, Council Meetings, member talks, competitions and the club handover.

For the themes of future meetings see the link on the EVENTS DIARY page.

On 29th June a virtual handover was held with the presidency of the club transferring from Phil Scrancher to Nigel Lindsay, with President Elect duties passing to Derek Cole. At the handover meeting a competition for the best Handover hat was held.

On the 10th August a competition was hosted by Robert Cooper for the best Poem with the theme "Lockdown". A total of 14 poems were submitted (albeit one after the meeting), the entries were judged by the host and his partner and whittled down to the best 4 which were submitted to the club members for voting on what they considered to be the best.

The Competiion was won by Nigel Young with his Poem "When Covid struck a Robin sang".
